- 90% on farm training and 10% classroom training
Program Description
The Swine and Dairy herdsperson apprenticeship program allows you to earn while you learn, working on a progressive Ontario
swine or dairy operation. Apprentices find an employer willing to hire them and then complete the training standards as developed
by the Ministry of Traiing, Colleges and Universities. The program will require 2 to 2.5 years of skill development.
The Swine and Dairy Apprenticeship Program is:
- A building block for youth or adults to develop valuable skills in Ontario's agri-food system.
- A hands-on opportunity to work with people and animals in a career in animal care and food production.
- A chance for skills training that will lead to rewarding jobs and opportunities for advancement in Ontario's pork or dairy industries.
Admission Requirements:
2003/2004
Grade 12 OSSD or Grade 12 Equivalency
