Monsanto Biotechnology is the leader in the development of trait based solutions to agricultural problems.  A key leadership role within the organization is now available - a Site Lead for the research site located in RTP, NC.  The site has a reputation for innovation that has led to the commercial introduction of several biotechnology trait products.
The Site Lead has accountability for both scientific direction-setting as well as the logistical and operational aspects of a research facility.  Diverse activities are located in RTP that range from physiology to field testing and gene discovery to product stewardship.  The Site Lead will be a member of the broad Biotechnology Leadership Team and the Yield and Stress program leadership team.

The role will require and the candidate should possess experience in working on and managing projects in a team based, cross functional environment.  The candidate should have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively work, contribute, and lead in a diverse team environment.  A history of success in establishing and maintaining effective relationships is desired along with a strong goal based orientation.  Strong written and oral communication skills are a must, including the ability to present programs to audiences at a variety of levels.
An ideal candidate will also be able to provide leadership, prioritize projects, delegate responsibilities, and meet goals in the context of aggressive timelines.  The candidate must be comfortable, making timely, sometimes difficult decisions. 
The candidate must have a B.S. with 12+ years of experience, M.S. with 8 years of experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of experience.
