Winfield Business Unit: Winfield Solutions is an industry leader in crop protection and farm seed products, providing insights an expertise in this area. Our brands include AgriSolutionsTM crop protection products and CROPLAN GENETICS® seed.

Position Purpose:The intern will assist area Product Manager, Answer Plot Crew Leader, and Research Director to build brand awareness of CROPLAN Spring Canola and Sunflowers in the north central market area.

Primary responsibilities will include projects in the following areas:
Converting and development of field trial results in to marketing materials.
Creation of seasonal sales and marketing materials.
Assist in development and presentation of R7 field demonstration materials for training and marketing promotion.
Survey work of dealer and grower attitudes towards CROPLAN brand Spring Canola and Sunflowers.
Weekly visits to CROPLAN specific research locations to monitor field conditions and provide visual observations. Provide and catalog pictures from locations. (If these pictures are high quality, we could use them all on Answer plot.com for growers).
Assist in note taking of stand and plant characteristics, weeds, insects and diseases.
Assist with field maintenance, tagging, tissue sampling, head bagging, and canola harvest.

Additional job duties and responsibilities will be outlined by the primary supervisor and performance results reviewed mid-term during the internship.

This position will provide training and direction to complete a successful internship. Upon completing this internship, the intern will develop a presentation and communicate to Winfield Solutions seed sales and product management the data collected through this internship experience.

The goal of this internship is to enhance value to the product division within Winfield Solutions, to support regional marketing strategies and improve producer's profitability.

Hours and Schedule:
This is a full-time intern position from Late April - early September. A minimum of 40 hours per week.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education: This position is for someone who is attending college and planning to pursue an agricultural career after graduation. Applicants should possess a farm/agriculture background with preference to crop production and will be required to sign a confidentially agreement prior to employment.

Required Competencies & Other Skills: Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to think creatively and handle multiple projects; and desire to learn and gain experience. Candidates should be able to function with minimum of supervision and good work ethic. Much of this position is working outside with exposure to dust, plant pollen, wind, and cool/hot temperatures. Walking fields, and hand field work will be part of the position.
