The Seed Automation Engineer Coop will help the Seed Automation Network maintain and improve Monsanto&##39;s automation control systems to ensure process reliability, on-stream-time, seed quality, and safety of seed manufacturing production facilities.  The engineer will help design, install, and start-up smaller scale improvement projects.  The engineer will also help site management and production and maintenance personnel resolve production equipment challenges.
The core responsibilities of the Seed Automation Engineer Coop are:
·         Assist in automation/control systems design
·         Assist with PLC, HMI programming and IT management
·         Manage small projects
·         Assist in the growth and design of company standard core logic, standard HMI logic, and IT process control network
·         Provide site personnel with technical support
·         Help monitor trend, identify, and develop solutions to control system issues (consistency, standardization, on stream time, and maintenance) 

  • Currently pursuing BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Control System Engineering
  • Control system experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in computing systems, control system hardware including instrumentation PLC and HMI equipment
  • Experience with Rockwell PLC&##39;s and RSView/Factory Talk, and IT systems is a plus
  • Strong technical, teamwork, problem solving, and communication competencies
  • Self manage multiple priorities, across multiple organizations and multi-task effectively
  • Be effective at establishing strong working relationships and building networks
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of time
