Job Description:
SUMMARY:,,This position is part of a group of Team Members who are committed to supplying cost competitive, high quality pork by taking care of people, achieving operational and environmental excellence, managing risks and exceeding customer expectations in a workplace that provides for individual dignity and respect. This position is responsible for all aspects of business within a specific production system. Senior Production Specialists are responsible for the productionof a high quality product at the P level of the production system while maintaining a safe work place and clean environment. Specific duties include producing cost saving ideas, generation of CIR's an active role in creating annual budgets.Other specific duties include directing and providing leadership to all farm Team Members, all costs and volumes including spending/budgeting, the safety of all farm Team Members, the biosecurity of the unit and farm, and all environmentalissues including pit and lagoon level compliance, water and air quality, and waste removal. Senior Production Specialists are responsible for implementing and monitoring policies and procedures including standard operation guidelines and human resources policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include reporting production numbers environmental numbers, safety issues, accidents and human resources issues timely and accurately as well as any other duties that may arise. Senior Production Specialists are expected to build working relationships with other Team Members and Contract Producers that foster open communications, increased productivity and cost competitive products. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Requires broad knowledge generally acquired through four years of college, resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalents. Experience: 4+ years of experience managing live pork production facilities or working in a swine/animal production discipline which would allow for subject matter expertise with regard to improvement of processes in live swine production. ,, Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills required. Travel: More than 12 domestic trips yearly. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of Team Members who perform diverse tasks.
