The primary responsibility of this role is to manage Southern seed production for Research & Development traits, including but not limited to cotton and corn. The seed produced is critical for Phases 1-3 of Trait Development, supporting: research and development trial activities in US, production and trial activities in counter-season locations, global regulatory approval requirements, and regulatory science functions. This position will be located in the Phoenix, AZ area.

The incumbent will: • Plan and implement propagation of research and development traited seed; • Organize QC testing and maintain accurate records of results; • Track and maintain all pedigree, generation, stocks, etc. information in BioMat database; • Manage all functions of field production and processing to ensure optimal conditions for quality, quantity, and time efficiency; • Provide assistance to counter-season production staff; • Ensure compliance with all Regulatory, QMS, PPI, BioSafety and Stewardship guidelines; • Travel, as needed, domestically and internationally, 15%. The selected candidate is required to possess the following: • M.S. or in agronomy, horticulture, (or related field) or business + 5 years’ relevant seed production experience; • Current knowledge of southern row crop production – methods, sampling and data analysis; • Extremely good organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a team environment; • Problem solving skills must include organization and scheduling of multiple tasks and data management; • Demonstrated practical skills with sound understanding of field production operations; • Ability to travel, as needed, domestically and internationally, 15%.

Preferred Qualifications • M.S. degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant sciences; • 8+ years'relevant seed production experience.
