Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
To lead the sourcing of Professional Services which includes, but not limited to, outsourced services, HR services which includes temp staffing, and legal/compliance services while ensuring a strategic approach and adopting best in class methods to maximize the business contribution. To be the company expert in the Services market in the marketplace in which they operate. Capable of operating at a high level and representing Syngenta within supplier organizations while bringing value as an integral member of the Syngenta business teams.


- Develop and implement regional Procurement strategies
- Negotiations of commercial agreements including legal contracts as appropriate
- Understand Syngenta’s requirements and identifying appropriate suppliers
- Develop and promote the use of a structured Supplier Relationship Management approach
- Utilize and promote the use of available procurement and sourcing tools
- Demonstrate the highest ethical standards and ensure company procedures are adopted and followed
- Continually seek and identify potential total cost of ownership savings opportunities
- Ensure measurement and delivery of Procurement KPI’s that are aligned with business objectives
- Accountable to maintain current market knowledge and industry trends
- Accountable for the leadership and management of any direct reports

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Critical knowledge:
- Bachelors Degree in either Technical or Business field
- MBA or CPM desired but not required
- Knowledge of SAP helpful
- Ethical Procurement policies and procedures
- Knowledge of relevant business market trends
- Comprehensive knowledge of Procurement Policies and Procedures
- Minimum of 5 years Procurement experience

Critical experience:
- Experience in procuring both goods and services is helpful.
- Understanding of the International Business environment
- Successful people leadership and management experience
- Experience in the Professional Services category with the ability to analyze the total cost of ownership to generate cost savings
- Successful track record of managing 3rd party services sourcing initiatives

- Excellent negotiating skills

- Understanding of Headquarters operations
- Manufacturing experience helpful
- Project administration and policy writing

- Changes or improves processes as required

- Ensure seamless transition with supplier community and successful interface with Global Teams
- Develops effective networks across the global and regional organization
- Contributes positively to the values and the culture of the Business

Additional Information:
- Ability to work days and extended hours from time to time
- Must be able to travel by car or plane
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier and computer

- 85-90% of work performed in standard office
- 10-15% of work performed in field locations or meetings
- General office environment
- Computer usage for extended periods of time
- Phone usage including teleconferences

- Must have a valid driver’s license
