Calf & Heifer Livestock Production Specialist - NW Iowa

Business Unit:Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC is North America's leading feed company, providing producers, cooperatives and dealers with an extensive line of animal feed, ingredients and services.
Position Purpose:Profitably increase the sales volume and market share of young dairy animal milk replacer, feed, and associated products to producers in a targeted market area by providing a high level of technical service to customers in the coop and dealer channels. May also sell direct in specific assigned markets. Support event selling, feeder meetings, and execution of the promotional calendar with dealer account. Monitor and document production and profitability improvements for producers implementing program and product recommendations. Ensure the documentation is reviewed with the producer and local dealer staff. Provide technical information and training as requested for dealer employees. Provide tracking reports on marketing and service activities as management requires and maintain up to date and accurate client history records. Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in nutrition, production management, and selling skills through recommended training and verified by documented sales results. Performs other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or requested.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education:Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field and minimum 2 years experience in the production of specific animal groups assigned. Requires daily travel in an assigned geography and must be able to lift and carry 50 lb. bags of feed as needed.
