Business Unit:Supply Chain includes facilities and processes that operate to manufacture a finished product from raw material and deliver to the end-user. This business unit enhances competitive advantage, efficiency, innovation, quality and consistency.
Position Purpose:The Production Supervisor in our animal feed plant is responsible for leading and organizing production per product demands. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll be directly responsible for leading 14 hourly employees on two shifts.
You will be responsible for:
Providing leadership for all production activities, which includes supervising, scheduling, and directing all related work activities.
Working closely with all members of management staff to ensure that the highest quality product meets scheduled commitments in a safe/efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.
Effectively coordinating and utilizing available resources to formulate action plans for process and quality improvements, Land O' Lakes Quality Management System (FQMS) requirements, cost reduction, etc.
Upholding and demonstrating the Land O'Lakes core values.
This position is not directly responsible for budgeted cost, but will be expected to address issues that effect costs within the facility.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:4 year degree in or a production related field.
Bachelors degree, preferably in, agriculture, Manufacturing, Milling Science, Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
2+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
Must have strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and data entry skills.
Ability to communicate with a variety of people and negotiate priorities.
Demonstrated written communication skills.
Capacity for consistently meeting deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Solid organization and detail orientation, and excellent follow-through skills.
Required Competencies & Other Skills:Must demonstrate strong work ethic with effective people and communication skills.
The ability to organize, plan, and multi-task is essential, as are basic computer skills.
Conflict resolution skills are a must.
Must be able to follow Plant and Company guidelines and meter discipline in a fair, balanced, and consistent manner.
Must embrace Company diversity guidelines when hiring, placing and supervising operators.
Preferred Experience & Education:Feed Mill Experience is preferred.
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:HACCP and LEAN Manufacturing Experience is a plus.
Percentage of Travel:<5%
