The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver the tactical execution of determined product strategies for assigned territory and provide meaningful data on market trends, competitor actions and proactive customer concerns. The territory is primarily covering the Sarasota, Desoto, Charlotte, Hardee and Highlands counties in West Central Florida. This area is a major Citrus and vegetable growing area in Florida with Citrus being the number one crop. The position maintains and/or increases business for Bayer CropScience Crop Protection products such as Movento, Envidor, Admire pro, Aliette and Alion. As innovative leaders in the crop protection industry, we develop new products and sustainable solutions which help safeguard harvests and yields in order to meet the growing demand for high quality food and feed, fiber and energy crops. The selected candidate is to live preferably in the Sarasota City area.
The incumbent will: Develop sales strategies for assigned customers and potential customers; Communicate customer requirements to proper internal personnel; Call on existing and potential customers to sell Bayer products and present recommendations on product introduction; Participate in local organizations to maintain awareness of industry issues; Gather, assimilate and analyze market and competitive information; Achieve or exceed budgeted sales volume for assigned area; Develop and update annual sales forecast; Assist in formulation and implementation of long and short-term strategic sales plans for accounts within assigned area; Formulate and recommend strategies for achieving long and short business plans for key accounts and assigned area; Participate in industry trade shows; May provide coaching to other employees; Assist in establishment and maintenance of travel/entertainment budget; Travel 75-80% in territory daily, as needed, with potential for some overnight travel, approx. 10%. The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
B.S. degree in business, agribusiness, ag-science, agronomics or a related agricultural discipline, or equivalent relevant agricultural chemical industry sales experience; 1+ years of proven agricultural sales experience; Advanced understanding of sales/marketing techniques and knowledge of the assigned products, markets, application technology and customer base; Good organizational and planning skills; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); Advanced persuasive abilities and negotiation skills in order to influence current and potential customers to Bayer products; Safe driving record with valid driver's license; Ability to travel 75-80% in territory daily, as needed, with potential for some overnight travel, approx. 10%.
B.S. degree in agribusiness, ag-science, agronomics or a related agricultural discipline; 2+ years' of proven agricultural chemical sales experience Previous Crop Protection Manufacturer or Distribution Sales experience.
Salary and grade level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
