Cargill AgHorizons is the division of the company dedicated to creating value for agricultural producers, specifically grain and oilseed growers in the Prairies and Ontario. Cargill AgHorizons Canada has opportunities available for Agronomist Trainees. This position supports the sales and service efforts of the Farm Service Group Team. Working with Farm Marketing Representatives and their customers, the Agronomist Trainee provides valued solutions to crop production opportunities through the application of Cargill AgHorizons' programs and products as well as their own professional knowledge. By providing superior technical information and service, the Farm Service Group Agronomist will differentiate Cargill AgHorizons from its competitors, creating incremental sales and margin opportunities. This is a development opportunity for university/college graduates with 1 to 3 years scouting experience.
 
Training:
Working closely with the Farm Service Group Agronomist and Farm Marketing Representatives this position is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience to develop into an Agronomist within 6 to 18 months.
 
Locations: Unity, SK

Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma preferably in Agriculture
  • One to three years of crop scouting experience
  • Strong organizational skills to manage time and a variety of projects and customer needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to persuade and make presentations to groups.
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Strong sales skills to support Farm Service Group gross margin goals
