Role Purpose/Accountabilities:

* Developmental Sales Representative will work with a district manager/mentor to complete the objectives in their Training Achievement Guide.
* DSR’s will also manage an individual project with targeted accounts within a CU geography to apply their curriculum learning.
* Assure proper product use and expectations to include; product features and benefits, pest identification, hybrid and/or variety recommendations, scouting, application timing, grower/retail meetings and sale confirmation. This will include follow-up with key growers and retailers both during and after the use season.
* Act as steward of product portfolio by managing service calls and complaints in the field as needed.
* Develop an understanding of customer needs through consultative/value added selling and presenting solutions to growers and retailers.
* Utilize marketing programs to drive sales and develop relationships with targeted growers and retailers.
* Assist the CU to exceed sales, financial and market share objectives during training.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


Critical knowledge:
It is essential that the candidate have a broad knowledge of the product portfolio and of the assigned crop markets. The candidate must be able to recognize competitive activities in the marketplace and know how to effectively minimize impact without compromising profitability targets.

Critical Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Agriculture. The candidate must demonstrate the following abilities: leadership, innovative thinking and calculated risk-taking.

Additional Information:

* Initial training in Greensboro, NC.
* Travel Requirements – 75%
* After a six month training program, the candidate must be willing to relocate anywhere within the continental United States, when a sales representative position is available.
