Role:  The Regulatory Strategy Lead, Critical Projects will work with senior leaders in Regulatory and other functions to establish and manage a broad project/product strategy plan for the highest impact, most cross-functional deliverables for Regulatory chemistry and biotech areas. This role will work directly with the Regulatory Chief of Staff (supervisor), a Portfolio Lead, and an Operations Lead to ensure that key decisions in Regulatory are made at the best time for Monsanto&##39;s highest priorities. This Strategy Lead will coordinate and track the high level Regulatory Leadership Team (RLT) goals.  This position will also work with global project managers, area leads, scientists and reg affairs managers as needed to analyze project plans across groups for the most big-picture view of timing and positioning while also providing critical path analysis across projects and then contribute to key strategic decisions in Regulatory as needed.
 
Responsibilities include:  The person in this role will be responsible for working with key leads across Regulatory who have project plans to assemble and maintain an overall Regulatory Leadership Project Assessment process including critical path analysis and prioritization resolution for selected highest impact projects.   This role will partner with other Strategy and Operations leads to provide guidance to the Regulatory Leadership Team regarding strategies and prioritizations needed to keep selected projects on path. This position will be responsible for working with RLT to establish and track each year&##39;s high-level Regulatory goals.
This strategic position will be required to network with other leaders within Regulatory and Monsanto as needed to broadly to understand the overall strategic direction of the company as well as a moderate level of project detail to ensure that Regulatory processes are aligned and delivering on critical projects.  Some travel (domestic and international) may be required.


Qualifications:
Required Skills: Minimum B.S. (advanced degree or equivalent experience desired) in a technical discipline (e.g.,Chemistry/Biology/Pharm.Sci/Eng) with 5+ years of experience and demonstrated success working in regulatory/ag or biotech environment.  Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with technical teams and individuals as well as strong problem solving skills.  Project management training or experience highly desirable including demonstrated project analysis and critical path assessment skills.   Demonstrated ability to successfully manage technical project plans is required.  Strong technical and compliance background and experience (R&D, QA/QC, Manufacturing, Engineering) in the development, manufacture and/or control of pharmaceuticals or crops is desirable.  Some knowledge of national and international regulations for biotechnology products is optional. 

A successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style and content to facilitate interaction with a diverse audience that will include at times senior leaders as well as project contributors at all levels. Candidate must be highly motivated, flexible, and able to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Strong leadership and strategy thinking skills are required.
