Position Title: Asset Accounting Lead

The Fixed Asset Lead provides fixed asset and capital accounting expertise for the North America SBS Finance Organization within the NSAP system. The Fixed Asset Lead will be responsible for: 1) financial records are recorded/reported according to International Financial Reporting Standards as well as guiding the business around proper accounting treatment for assets. 2) manage internal control processes 3) ensure service delivery of 3rd party provider (Cap Gemini).
Accountabilities: Manage service delivery of 3rd party provider.
Value intangible assets and measure asset returns
Develop an effective partnership with NA businesses around asset accounting and Capex
Evaluate Capex and investment requests and track capital and project spend
Ensure assets are accurately created and recorded
Ensure assets are tagged, physically tracked and inventoried
Ensure fixed asset register reconciles with General Ledger
Manage asset transfer and disposal process
Ensure monthly asset accounting closing activities are performed
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Critical knowledge: :
An understanding of the complete end to end process of capital accounting along with key performance drivers. Fixed Asset accounting, Financial planning, analysis and benchmarking skills. Understanding of SAP is required; understanding of Hyperion is preferred.
An Accounting degree required with a CPA, MBA highly desirable. Accounting and business process definition in the Seeds or Crop Protection industry (or similar manufacturing industry). Demonstrated passion and experience for improving process and financial performance. IS/PC skills (SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) and ability to provide SC management with information critical for their function. Experience in the leadership of teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Critical technical, professional & personal capabilities:
The ability to manage service delivery of a 3rd party provider at the same time ensuring compliance to IFAS reporting requirements. The ability to organize and simplify complex processes.

Travel requirement & other information:
