Position Title: R&D Manager – Vero Beach Research Center, Biological Research and Development

Role Purpose/Accountabilities:

- Provide leadership and development opportunities for an experienced R&D team at the Vero Beach Research Center (VBRC).
- Coordinate and deliver R&D program assigned to the VBRC.
- Manage personnel, facilities, and funding resources assigned to the VBRC.
- Ensure an effective partnership with SBI, Technical Asset Lead’s, Product Biology, and Global Technical Mangers – including Stage 1 testing support.
- Service as a North American resource to support the field testing program – i.e. screening to refine field trial treatment lists -- greenhouse, growth chamber and laboratory support – plus root cause product issue investigations.
- Provide sales support to the Commercial Units.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of PE strategies to effectively deliver new active ingredients and traits for commercialization
- Create an environment which fosters innovation, creativity and empowerment.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Critical knowledge:
- Ph.D. degree in an Agricultural Science preferred.
- Crop and pest trialing practices.

Critical experience:
- Experience in crop protection and/or pest management research that demonstrates broad understanding of how to connect development opportunities and business needs. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and motivate staff to function as a high performing team.

- Excellent leadership, people management, teamwork and communication skills needed. Ability to challenge the status quo and work with NA and Global colleagues to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the PE organization.

Additional Information:

- Travel Requirements of 25%-35%
- Two years current position preferred. Candidates who have been in their current position a minimum of one year will be considered if they have the approval of their current business unit leader and hiring business unit leader.
