Position Title: Technical Asset Lead, Seed Care

Role Purpose/Accountabilities:

- Thoroughly profile active ingredients and brands for utility and competitive advantages
- Provide brand training and/or materials for training to internal/external customers
- Provide Brand Mgmt support through designing brands that have technical integrity in performance, positioning and sustainability
- Set active ingredients / brand development priorities and manage development budget and projects for timely delivery

Accountabilities:

- Technically steward brands across life cycle
- Interface with other technical groups (Seedcare Asset Lead, field biology, Prof. Products, R&T)
- Develop protocols and scientific studies for thorough profiling of brands (including resistance mgmt), product segmentation, and competive comparisons.
- Develop training materials (with Seedcare Asset Lead ) for internal/external customers.
- Global interface for exchange of technical info and strategies.
- Insure all brand strategies, business cases, positioning, claims, labels, and communications are supported by good science.
- Manage Grant-in-Aid funds.
- Communicate brand objectives across other groups (Biology, R&T, Supply Chain Managers, Professional Pest Managers)
- Provide technical guidance, support, and evaluation of 3rd party AIs for portfolio or crop solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and determine technical options for post patent strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of leading technologies with scientific discipline & participate in scientific societies
- Monitor and beat the competition

- Continue to support ongoing activities with no loss of productivity or delays in timelines


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Critical knowledge:
- Minimum M.S. degree in Agronomy or relevant principle with 5+ years experience in product development. Ph.D. is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge (minimum of 1-2 courses) in plant pathology; good working knowledge/experience in plant physiology and factors that result in increased yields
- Understanding of key agronomic factors in field crops, especially corn, soybean and cereals
- Broad knowledge of product development process, protocol writing, information systems, and regulatory requirements.

Critical experience:
- Minimum M.S. degree in Agronomy or relevant principle with 5+ years experience in product development. Ph.D. is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge (minimum of 1-2 courses) in plant pathology; good working knowledge/experience in plant physiology and factors that result in increased yields

- Interface with Global counterparts, as well as seed colleagues
- Engage with Brand Manager to ensure implementation of the brand strategies
- Work closely in support of the crop campaign teams.
- Provide technical leadership in the development of cross-functional processes and the systems that will deliver strong brands to the Business Teams and customers.


Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:
- Keen understanding of agriculture, marketplace dynamics, competitive environment and customer needs
- Ability to integrate various management practices together - incorporating fungicides, seed care, etc. with PGRs
- Ability to understand/incorporate developments in biotechnology/genetics into crop management program
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and interpret for decision making, identifying opportunities, and supporting communications.


Critical leadership capabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to think and act creatively and strategically.
- Demonstrated successful project leadership and team work
- Ability to effectively interact across functional groups to achieve desired results.
- Knowledge of brand strategies development and implementation is highly desirable.


Additional Information:

- All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
- Travel requirements 40-50%.
