Cargill AgHorizons is the division of the company dedicated to creating value for agricultural producers, specifically grain and oilseed growers in the Prairies and Ontario. Cargill AgHorizons Canada has opportunities available for Operations Management Trainees, which is an excellent point of entry for development into responsible management positions in Cargill's grain and farm supply operations across Canada. We are looking for people with potential to progress into leaders of multimillion dollar retail businesses providing essential products and services to farm customers.
 
Operations Management Trainees are responsible for carrying out all basic operations of a Farm Service Centre. Essential duties include unloading, grading, and binning grain, loading rail cars, receiving and shipping crop input merchandise. You will also become familiar with fertilizer and pesticide products and services, and will become involved in sales, marketing and business planning activities at a Farm Service Centre.
 
Training:
Upon assignment to a Farm Service Centre in the Cargill AgHorizons Business Unit, the Operations Management Trainee will learn all aspects of elevator management, primarily through on-the-job training. You will become knowledgeable in grain grading, inventory management of grain and farm supplies, accounting procedures, customer service skills, scheduling, planning repair and maintenance, environment, health and safety processes and the grain and farm supply industry in Canada.
 
Training Locations:

Ontario – Princeton, Melbourne

Manitoba – Nesbitt, Dauphin

Saskatchewan – Clavet, Moose Jaw, North Battleford

Alberta – Carseland, Rycroft, Camrose, Lethbridge

Skills:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree. 
  • Strong interest in agriculture or food production.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills.
  • Farm background is helpful but not required.
  • Must be willing to relocate after the training period (6-18 months) is complete.
