Job Description:
Summary: This position is responsible for procuring products and services at the best value that meets Tyson's standards of quality and reliability. This position will play an integral role in planning, coordinating, negotiating, and implementing contractual commitments. This position will actively participate in supplier relationship management and maintain close contact with suppliers to keep them informed of policies and procedures. This position will keep suppliers engaged in continual cost savings initiatives and provide an ongoing evaluation of their performance. This position will work in conjunction with other business units to provide an efficient purchase to pay process. This position will be responsible for being part of a cross functional team and participate and/or manage various special projects. Other duties include communicating program initiatives and special changes/consolidations to Tyson Foods facilities, as well as performing other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Experience: 4+ years experience. Production and/or maintenance background preferred. Purchasing experience is a plus.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with above average interpersonal skills are mandatory for this position

Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills in SAP, STORES, and Microsoft office. Must possess the skill level to develop, create, and maintain advanced spreadsheets and databases.

Travel: 6 - 12 domestic trips per year.

Reports to: Manager Sourcing

Position-Specific Requirements:
Mechanical/Technical background or experience preferred on candidates. Analytical skills and above average business common sense strongly desired.
