Job Description:

REPORTS TO:
VP-Portfolio Management

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop, organize and maintain a product management program to align a product’s performance over its lifecycle to the Association’s Risk Appetite and economic outlook. Responsible for the initial validation and on-going performance monitoring of the Association’s modeling processes. Coordinate the portfolio management support in implementing capital management transactions to assure proper disclosure of asset quality and adequate controls are in place to monitor transactions. Analyze data and information in innovative ways to perform analysis that helps make strategic decisions, balance portfolio risk and profitability, and optimize process efficiencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Develop, organize and maintain a product management program to understand a product’s performance over its lifecycle including quantification of credit risk, profitability and growth strategies. Assist business unit in the analysis and development of business goals and strategies. Recommend changes to create alignment with the Association’s Risk Appetite and economic outlook.
Level 24C: Manages product portfolios in excess of $10 billion in total commitments, or exhibit other significant risk factors within the product

2. Responsible for the initial validation and on-going performance monitoring of the Association’s modeling processes. Provide executive summaries concerning on-going model performance to Risk Management and Senior Leadership. Make recommendations of corrective actions that could be used to maintain an acceptable risk tolerance level. Coordinate with Risk Analyst - Model Development to present the recommended changes in lending activities and/or underwriting standards to the Risk Management Leadership and/or Credit Committee for approval.
Level 24C: Lead impact analysis of current and forecasted economic scenarios on models.

3. Coordinate the product management support in implementing capital management transactions to assure proper disclosure of asset quality and adequate controls are in place to monitor transactions.
Level 24C: Provides product management leadership to capital management transactions and/or pool participations to assure proper disclosure of asset quality and adequate controls are in place to monitor transactions.

4. Ensure all necessary data elements are available for product management and coordinates needs through Business Intelligence. Coordinate with Business Intelligence standard lending strategy and model performance reports.

5. Conduct risk analysis on Association products, including efficient extraction, manipulation, and analysis of complex datasets. Analyze data and information in innovative ways to perform analysis that helps make strategic decisions, balance portfolio risk and profitability, and optimize process efficiencies. Assist in the development of internal control processes to measure credit and lending process standard exceptions and make recommendations of how new and/or enhanced lending strategies could be used to mitigate exception risk.

6. Conduct customized portfolio studies to evaluate and measure risk when needed or requested. Recommend changes in lending activities and/or underwriting standards to Risk Management and/or Senior Leadership.

7. Work in a team environment to assist other department personnel in the successful accomplishment of department and divisional objectives.

8. Level 24C: Serve as a mentor to other Risk Analysts.
