Job Description:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the supervision of production Team Members, for quality, safety, humane handling of livestock, working with FSIS inspectors, local livestock producers, truckers, and any additional assignments deemed appropriate, by management, for this position. The individual in this position must work closely with the management team in achieving objectives; accept full accountability, assignments and day-to-day department responsibility; must be a team player.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 2+ years in Kill Floor preferred. Must have general knowledge of production operations and techniques; food safety; product yields, and USDA regulations.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets, or creating simple queries.

Communication Skills: Strong people skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual helpful.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This person manages the receiving, penning and moving of livestock to the slaughter department in a humane manner.

Travel: 0 - 10%

Special Skills: Team Leader, problem solving and special projects.

Other Requirements: Good attendance and safety record. Extra consideration given to team members with technical skills; must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.

Position-Specific Requirements:
Hours are 3:00 PM until shift is completed, usually around 12:30 AM. Monday-Saturday.
