The purpose of this role is to develop knowledge and management acumen in preparation for a larger HR role. The incumbent should deepen HR expertise in employment, law, safety, occupational  benefits, EEO, labor, etc. The incumbent should deepen his/her understanding of the business aspects of the meat industry.
Successful candidate will work assigned projects in one or more areas of HR activities at location including: employment, employee/labor relations, safety, occupational benefits, supervisor training, or training compliance activity including EEO. 
Principal Accountabilities:
50% Projects as Assigned
40% Employment
10% Employee Relations



  • 1+ year of HR experience
  • Demonstrated performance in project management, follow up and logical thought and judgment
  • Demonstrated competencies in time management and project management
  • Ability to demonstrate courtesy and effectiveness in dealing with others
  • Clearly expresses ideas, feelings and opinions
  • Takes time to think and respond to others with well thought out answers
  • Uses logic and rational thinking to make effective decisions
  • Self motivated, innovative, practical, creative, and adaptable
  • Motivate for high performance and excellence
  • Values and incorporates diversity
  • Occasional travel


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), knowledge if meat industry a plus, budget experience a plus
  • General knowledge of HR core competencies, employment, labor & employee relations, benefits and safety
  • Basic knowledge of desk top applications, word processing, spread sheet, Outlook
