Plant Accounting Supervisor - Kiel, WI

Business Unit:Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land O'Lakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
Position Purpose:The Plant Accounting Supervisor will assist in the monthly close process to include the preparation and verification of journal vouchers as well as the reconciliation of various balance sheet inventories. This position will also be responsible for providing variance reporting to management on a daily/weekly/monthly basis; providing insight in operation-improvement discussions; monitoring cycle counting and verify adherence to policy; assisting with product costing; assisting with the preparation of the monthly plant scorecard; assisting in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting; assisting with capital project spending planning / analysis and completion processing. As the Supervisor, you will also be responsible for promoting teamwork, empowerment, leadership, procedures and motivation to learn and improve as required to maintain a qualified staff. This position provides direct supervision of the Kiel, WI Plant Accountant.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:BS/BA in Accounting required along with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Required Competencies & Other Skills:Excellent computer skills, fluent in MS Office, excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Experience & Education:Advanced degrees or certifications desired.
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:JD Edwards or other large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience, previous supervisory experience.
Percentage of Travel:5%
