Strategic Trait Breeder for Lubbock, TX to manage strategic trait cotton breeding program to identify/integrate key traits into pipeline level germplasm; ensure research program follows ESH procedures; interact with Cotton Breeding team members involved with strategic trait breeding, greenhouse, nursery operations, testing operations, commercial breeding, international breeding; create next generation of commercial cotton products; assist with discovery efforts including population development, phenotyping, marker-trait association, fine mapping, validation; evaluate germplasm for presence of key traits; identify germplasm sources for use in crosses; coordinate with commercial breeders to advance line possessing key traits.

Requires Ph.D. in Plant Breeding; 2 years post-doctoral field-crop breeding research experience that includes using genotyping/phenotyping technology; discovery breeding in cotton germplasm; designing, creating, analyzing commercially-relevant cotton genetic populations for yield, fiber quality, resistance to biotic/abiotic stress; conducting field/greenhouse/laboratory research; collaborating with cross-functional teams in a research setting.
