The Credit Analyst serves the Association’s internal and external customers by analyzing loan application requests for residential, part-time, full-time, and small to moderate farm operating and term loans and the supporting financial, income, and historical performance information associated with those requests. Loan analysis will include scored and point of sale requests requiring additional review and support for decisions. He/she participates in the ongoing design of processes to further enhance service, achieve satisfactory credit administration goals, and achieve targeted credit quality coupled with adequate compensation for the loan risk. The Credit Analyst communicates analyses through complete, concise, and conclusive written credit reports as well as verbal communication with other Association employees. He/she makes decisions on loan requests within delegated authority and makes recommendations to the Director, Scored and Producer Lending or Loan Committee for loans exceeding delegated authority. The Credit Analyst will be expected to be available as a backup team member to process loan requests through the scorecard as well as meeting loan servicing requests in other areas served by the underwriting team. He/she, under the direction of the Director, Scored and Producer Lending, will assist in credit training activities, acting as a resource for other Association employees.
Required Knowledge and Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, agricultural business, or business administration. The incumbent must have current knowledge of livestock, equipment, farm production methods and products, and an understanding of finance and economics. The understanding of, and ability to use, various computer business/financial applications is required. Ability to make sound judgments is required. Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication, problem solving, and analytical skills are required. In addition, this position will be working in a team environment with other credit analysts and Association employees. As a result, the incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and team interaction skills.
