The Financial Services Officer/Assistant Vice President/Vice President – Traditional and Part-time Farmers primary responsibilities are centered on successfully developing and growing a diverse loan portfolio, consisting of operating, term, and mortgage loans for customers affiliated with traditional farms, part-time farms, hobby farms, residences, recreational properties, and niche agricultural endeavors. These efforts will result in positioning FCS Financial as the dominant provider of rural financial products and services. The target markets in this area include traditional farmers, part-time farmers, rural residents, recreational property owners, and others associated with a rural lifestyle. As part of this activity, the incumbent will market FCS Financial credit products and other related services directly or indirectly through third party referral sources, realtors, and agricultural professional networks to members and prospective customers based upon the individuals’ needs for these products. As relationships build within these networks, customers and prospective customers should regard the incumbent as a valuable resource that provides new and worthwhile knowledge/insights into the rural lending marketplace. Also, he/she will work closely with the Team Leader - Traditional and Part Time Farmers in establishing sales, marketing, and customer service plans for the team operations.
Required Knowledge and Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, or related field; experience in the agricultural industry, or similar experience in agricultural credit or closely related field; strong ability to communicate FCS "value added" business and farming concepts to attract and maintain a positive customer base; knowledge of FCS loan products and services and credit operations; knowledge of farm production methods and products, farm business management, finance, economics; and an understanding of, and ability to use, various computer business/financial applications. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analyzing, negotiating, influencing, and strategic selling skills. In addition, this position will be working in a team environment with other Market Facing and Customer Service Team members. As a result, the individual must demonstrate team building and team processing skills.
