Transportation Planner

Position Purpose:As a Transportation Planner, your responsibilities will be to:
o Develop and coordinate the tactical transportation plans for multiple manufacturing facilities.
o Execute inbound, interplant, and outbound transportation plans.
o Tender freight to carriers using TMS.
o Manage transportation events to ensure manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
o Build carrier relationships and enhance carrier utilization while maintaining division requirements for service and on time deliveries.

You will interface with Material Resource Planners / Inbound Logistics Specialists, Distribution Resource Planners, Deployers, SLA's, manufacturing and warehousing personnel, customer service representatives and service providers.

Other responsibilities include:
o Understanding freight bill payments
o Assisting Accounts Payable in resolution and corrective action
o Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy developed by the Transportation department.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:. 4 year college degree
. Preferred Supply Chain Background
. Internal applicants must be actively pursuing 4 year degree

System Knowledge - Demonstrates an understanding of TMS functionality by following established business processes in Transportation planning.

Feed Business Knowledge -Basic understanding of the feed business; including inputs, the transformation process, and our customers and markets.

Document supply chain network changes and quantify impact via the Decision-Making Tool

Conceptual Thinking - Demonstrates ability to introduce new concepts to replenishment and transportation planning, challenging existing ideas and processes supporting diversity. Document implemented new concepts and quantify impact via the Decision-Making Tool
