Imaging Scientist - Vegetables for St. Louis, MO to develop innovative digital image solutions for seed, seedling analysis; investigate innovative, emerging technologies to incorporate into research; design/develop/validate/implement custom imaging techniques to support key business initiatives; apply digital image analysis to agricultural systems; participate in pilot programs, assisting with deployment of new image systems in manufacturing plants; employ technologies including 3-D imaging, x-ray, ultrasound, thermal imaging, fluorescence imaging, laser/spectral imaging to identify measurable, distinguishing features, characteristics during young plant development.


Requires Ph.D. in Biological or Electrical Engineering or closely-related field; 1 yr imaging research experience employing optical imaging, 3-D image analysis, X-ray, computed tomography, pattern recognition; working independently on research projects as well as participating in multiple research project groups; performing statistical analysis using regression, mixed model, discriminant/clustering analysis, experimental design; programming hardware, developing user interfaces, processing images, analyzing data, designing algorithms in Matlab.
