Position Title: Sr Business Manager, Global Trait Licensing

Support overall Global GM Traits Licensing Strategy, including in- and out- licensing strategy.
Lead successful implementation of licenses post signing to ensure compliance with the contractual terms and the value of the license is realized.
Coordinate / and or lead select global in and out-licensing negotiations, strategic collaborations and coordinate internal technical and commercial teams providing input for key relationships.
Shape, develop and implement licensing strategies for Global GM Traits.
Support negotiation strategy and ensure proper valuation of GM Traits.
Support post patent strategy and trait life cycle management.
Support R&D trait portfolio development.
Lead or provide support to key germplasm deals with major competitors globally.
Accountabilities: Employ sound project management tools and capabilities within Global Trait Licensing.
Lead and/or support in/out licensing strategy.
Ensure excellent management of and support for key 3rd party licensees/collaborators.
Lead or participate as key team member in negotiations of key licensing deals or strategic collaborative opportunities.
Participate actively as a team member for M&A, collaborations or other deals as required.
Coordinate and ensure an effective collaboration with key business and research leaders and related business strategy teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Critical knowledge: :
Knowledge of agriculture industry and markets in key regions for GM Traits.
Knowledge of out licensing and alternative route to market channels.
Competitive insights and strategies.
Knowledge of Syngenta product portfolio, strategies for CP, Seeds, and Traits.
Knowledge of Internal planning, strategy, governance and approval processes.
Strong communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Significant experience in agricultural industry, germplasm, traits and/or crop protection.
Experience in negotiation strategy development & implementation with 3rd parties.
Experience in project evaluation, project management, business case development, and strategy development & analysis.
Strong financial, marketing, licensing, and business experience relevant to seeds and agribusiness.
Excellent MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills.
Masters degree, MBA preferred.
7-10 years of work experience in licensing or business development.
