Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
*Responsible for executing production plant tasks assign by Plant Management. Monitor, operate and maintain both plant and field technical production equipment to ensure the highest quality seed product is produced to meet sales demand. Organize and perform in assigned department to insure all required processes, procedures, and production requirements are met. Contributes to an operational culture founded on HSE and supply management processes built from innovation and continuous process improvement.
*Tasks may include but not limited to Corn and/or Soybean:
*Field Activities: Field Inspecting, Field Machine Technician and Area Assistant Coordinator *General/Admin: Maintenance Technician
*Harvest: Sheller Coordinator, SAP Data Entry, Assist with field harvest
*Rework, Conditioning, Treating and Packaging: Sizer, Palletizer, Gravity Table, Spiral, Cleaner, Color Sorter, Bulk Storage and Batch Verification Technician
*Warehouse, Distribution, Discard and Maintain Product: Shipping/Distribution Technician and Seed Delivery (CDL)
*Guidelines for Responsibilities
*Managing people/processes 25% to 50 % of time
*Involved in planning and contributes innovative ideas
*Impacts financial aspects, product and service quality, contributes to overall safety
*Requires some supervision and direction, typically less than 50% of time
*High level internal interaction – minimal/moderate external interaction
*Individual tasks may be complex at times, may require multiple job skills
*Shall comply with all Syngenta and legal safety policies, identify, report and remediate if possible any unsafe acts or conditions within the facility

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: *Must be High School graduate or GED degree
*Associate degree in agronomy (or related plant science), Ag. Business is preferred but not required
*An Agricultural background is also preferred but not required
*Commercial Pesticide Applicators License preferred
*Minimum 2 years of seed industry experience preferred
*Management experience preferred but not necessary
*Experience in inventory, distribution processes and/or managing quality transactional data in SAP may be preferred in some locations
*Excellent communication skills to work well with co-workers on plant tasks and in field production management with farmer growers
*Excellent organization skills to plan out work and conditioning schedules that will best utilize the plant and receiving storage capacities
*Good writing and math skills
*Team orientated to work with everyone at the plant to successfully complete work schedule and to accomplish safety targets. To work together on in-bound seed into receiving storage and with bagging supervisor on bin space available to condition seed into
*PC and business software skills, willingness to learn SAP if necessary
*Supervisory skills
*Decisive
*Trusted - Will need to make good sound judgment calls in regards to seed quality management that will be for the best interest of the company
*Results-oriented
*Innovative - To always look to implement new procedures or technologies to improve work efficiencies
*Detail/Accuracy Oriented - All procedures and policies must be understood and followed. Data entry into data management systems must be accurate due to decisions being made by other departments based on the information given
*Ability to adapt to changing environmental/situational needs such as rain, snow storms and very cold temperatures that can affect the scheduling and operation of the plant
*Ability to make timely, effective decisions
*Ability to remain flexible and responsive when faced with multiple urgent requests due to change in schedule because of weather or variety changes
*Self motivated
*CDL license may be required
