Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
Manages all maintenance activities at Kekaha, including repair and upkeep of fixed assets and vehicles and equipment; purchasing and accounts payable for tools, equipment, repair parts and supplies; manage inventory of repair parts and supplies; analyze maintenance trends and develop strategic plans for life cycle management of all assets; prepare and monitor the maintenance budget, and management of all assigned leads and technicians.

Accountabilities: Ensure compliance with all Syngenta and governmental HSE requirements and analyze and make recommendations for safety procedures. Ensure safe, reliable, and cost effective maintenance and documentation for all site assets. Provide management oversight and technical assistance to leads and technicians to resolve maintenance issues. Analyze maintenance trends and develop procedures to reduce equipment downtime. Participate in site management meetings and other venues to coordinate across functions. Prepare and manage the maintenance budget. Establish inventory controls for repair parts and shop tools, equipment, and supplies. Ensure asset readiness and provide support to all functional groups at the Kekaha site. Other duties as directed by the Site Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: B.A. or B.S. with additional post-graduate technical certifications.Requires 7 to 10+ years of successful management experience performing complex logistics operations in a regulated, time sensitive, geographically isolated multi-cultural environment.
Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges: Highly skilled in managing complex logistics operations in a regulated, time sensitive, geographically isolated environment. Ability to identify and implement efficiencies while maintaining a high degree of asset readiness. Manages preventive maintenance and repairs activities for 270 + capital assets including 73 fleet vehicles and 200 items of farming machinery including tractors, combines, forklifts, sprayers, pumps, and other equipment; 8 buildings with laboratories, seed processing and storage, warehousing, and offices, and associated grounds areas. Skilled in communicating effectively in a multicultural team environment at executive, supervisory, and crew levels to facilitate excellent customer support for all functional areas. Technically expert in construction and facility maintenance, fleet and farm equipment maintenance, and logistics administration. Able to provide training and technical support to leads and technicians to resolve maintenance issues. Able to manage multiple priorities with a strong orientation to detail, quality assurance and quality control, continuous improvement, customer service and safety.Type 4 CDL & Forklift Certification
