Cargill Corn Milling North America is a manufacturer of value-added corn and sugar based products serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation segments. From facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas, we provide a wide variety of products and services including high fructose corn syrup, corn syrups, dextrose syrups and sucrose that are used in an array of beverage, brewing, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical applications. We also produce a variety of innovative, dry corn ingredients that are used in cereals, snacks, breads, tortillas and animal feed applications. In addition, we produce fuel-grade ethanol and are a leading supplier of corn oil, acidulants, corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed products.
This position will have direct responsibility for energy utilization efforts, boiler operations and interfacing with internal and external parties in issues related to natural gas, electricity, coal and steam at the Memphis Corn Milling facility. This role will also be our contact person for Memphis with the Corporate Energy PDG team. Boiler operations include; but are not limited to: production, safety, environmental cost and quality.
30% - Development and supervision of direct and indirect reports (coaching, PMP's) Peer with other facilities to establish plant policies.
40% - Develop strategies for operations including technical optimization of the boilers and equipment/system efficiency, performance and reliability. Focus on total energy cost reduction.
20% - Identify needs for capital jobs/major maintenance jobs to assure boiler reliability, assets health and use of alternate coal sources. Establish, implement and maintain area capital and operating budgets.
10% - Actively communicate with Energy PDG Team to share knowledge about Best Practices in the boiler operation/energy areas.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or 10+ years production supervisory experience
- 5+ years production management and supervisory experience
- Demonstrated high level of technical skill in energy related area
- Working knowledge of Food Safety, OSHA and Environmental regulations
- Demonstrated team building , leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to solve technical problems/troubleshooting
- Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, presentation skills) and interact with all levels of the organization
