Reporting to a member of the Senior Manager Group that leads the Transportation & Logistics team, the Grain Logistics Manager will lead a new team of logistics professionals focused on fluid supply chain management by optimizing the movement of grain and oilseeds from Country elevator position through to our port terminal locations.
30% - Manage the logistics for the Vancouver Terminal and Prince Rupert Terminal.
20% - Be the channel between the Terminals, Forwarding/Export group, Rail Logistics team, Regional Grain Logistics Coordinators, Farm Service Groups, 3rd Party Shippers, Commodity Merchants and Railroads to ensure effective and timely decisions are made to maximize pipeline revenues and volume.
15% - Develop, communicate & maintain long, medium and short term plans for the pipeline to ensure alignment between rail/terminal capacity and export sales/FSG origination programs.
15% - Lead, develop and manage a team of Logistic Coordinators.
10% - Monitor the effectiveness of the pipeline and continue to refine and improve current practices and processes to maximize the efficiency and revenues of the pipeline.
10% - Develop and maintain a set of key performance indicators for all aspects of the pipeline to quickly determine potential pipeline fluidity issues and make the appropriate decisions to resolve the issue.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics/Transportation, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management OR equivalent work experience in Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management or Supply Chain
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated leadership, conflict management and strategic thinking skills
Knowledge and understanding of logistics and/or operations/merchandising
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
Supply Chain Management experience
Scheduling and/or production planning experience
