Responsibilities

• Participate in next-generation indoor agriculture experiments using vertical racks and hydroponic systems
• Collect, organize, and analyze research data
• Assist with maintaining and monitoring controlled environment systems
• Support experimental design and research activities

• A role in agronomic sales and service focuses on enhancing customer relationships through qualified agronomic advice and driven sales
• Assist the Territory Sales Agronomist and Territory Managers with daily activities. These include but are not limited to:
• Field Scouting - pre-burn timing, insect monitoring, weed pressures, herbicide/fungicide timing, and disease presence
• Chemical/Seed deliveries - majority of our chemical is delivered to farm in season
• Assist office managers in running yards (blending, answering phones, helping customers load oil/seed/chem)
• Tendering dry / NH3 fertilizers to customers / custom applicators
• Organizing and hosting crop tours, company golf tournaments and customer events

• Agriculture economics: You will participate in researching and analyzing local production data and observe the process of managing local raw supply.
• Agriculture production – you can deepen your knowledge of potato production and monitor crop status.
• Agriculture research: Under the supervision and direction of the company agronomist, you will design, collect, and analyze data on projects relevant to the company’s future, including sustainability and production improvement. You will also participate in extension work promoting new techniques and best-growing practices.
• Sustainability—Learn and contribute to McCain’s sustainability goals of reducing carbon emissions and improving the regenerative agriculture practices of our potato growers.
   

• Promote relations between the company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits
• Track and evaluate potato varieties and their performance in the factory

• Program span of 15 weeks participating in agricultural situations designed to create knowledge for future employment in the agriculture industry.
• Participate in projects and labor for the North Central Research Station (NCRS).
• Exposure to various aspects of ag business throughout the company, including but not limited to: Marketing, Sales, Agronomic Sciences, and Operations.
• Conduct scientific field research on various crops and soil chemistry and physiology.
• Collect and analyze data, learn about various technology for tracking, measuring and recordkeeping.
